Full of Dead People

Being a newbie here in Los Angeles, I am amazed at the numbers of churches that are here.  It seems there is one on every corner.  As I drive around on a daily basis, I always have my eyes peeled and on the lookout for churches.  I always have been intrigued by the architecture of each building showing the individual character of the church.  No matter what denomination, I am still interested in the exterior and do not hold any feelings of the structure itself.

As I have titled this post, “Full of Dead People”, I do have to express my feelings towards the interior of these structures.  Although they be called churches by name, I ask, are they the true representation of the Church body of Christ?  What is inside of all these so-called churches?  Do they belong to the church body?  Why is there so much diversity in what is going on inside?

The true church body of Christ is clear in Scripture.  Scripture explains what the church is and what is to be done in the church.  So many of these churches have fallen by the wayside and have become disbursement centers of false doctrines leading people away from Christ defeating the whole purpose of praise and worship to Christ which the church was developed for in the beginning.  As society has decayed and continues as Scripture states, Scripture has told what is happening and what will come.  In 2 Timothy 4:3, Paul, inspired by the Holy Spirit, writes “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires.”

People today are not interested in the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  It is too confronting.  The truth is an antagonist and does not set well with so many people in today’s line of thinking.  They are looking for something that is easy and does not convict them a kind of a feel good country club environment.  They want, as Scripture says, their ears tickled meaning they want to hear the lies they have created in their minds about God and Christ.  The leaders of these churches are cashing in on this literally.  Money driven religion.

The sad reality of this nonsense is that millions will end up at judgement and in shock only to find they were led down the wrong path.  Jesus makes it plain as day when He said in Matthew 7:21-23 “saying Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22 Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’

How awful would it be to hear those words spoken from Jesus when you think you were before God and Jesus to get your rewards only to find you are receiving judgement?  It makes me shake to even think of that.  I had feelings for those trapped in those horrible places.  But I have realized that the majority are there by their own choice and freedom.  They are not victims but they are believers of the garbage they are peddling.  They want what they are selling.  They do not want God or the truth.  It is that simple.

If you are at a place of worship and the truth of Scripture is not being taught, I pray that the Holy Spirit would do a work in your heart and open your eyes to see.  Please find a good Bible teaching church and get plugged in.  Be careful out there!
